about

What do you get when you take a few adolescents that cut their teeth playing Mudhoney covers in their parent’s basement without a drummer, and you give them a second hand drum set and some recording software that they barely know how to use? Throw in some weed and a slight desire to start playing shows and you have just enough drive to shoddily put together an “album.”

A testament to how little these sons of the suburbs knew about how to record music is the buzzing noise heard throughout Bear Suit. In fact, anyone who touched anything metal involved in the recording rig would actually receive a slight electric shock.

Toasty Grandpa meant a lot to a few and very little to a lot (or most). To those close to the inside it was something to do. It was a creative outlet. It was something to kill time. It was a way to express how you felt about being a teenager living in the last place you wanted to live. It was rebellion. But most of all it was friendship and love shared between people who had actually found their tribe.
Cue the “Happy Birthday voice.”
