"The future belongs to crowds"-Don DeLillo

This is simply a document, a perspective among many. The TV news has reporters on the ground and in the air, and most people have feeds and tweets. This is the radio chatter of the Chicago Police Dept. on May 31, during protests and rioting in the wake of George Floyd's murder; the first recording is from 1:25 AM and the second is from 9:00 PM. The musical content threatens to be an all-enveloping presence. It's loud, wide, and heavy. A person could try to disappear into this sound, but the radio persistently demands their attention.

Listeners may take what they like from these recordings, but I stand with the disenfranchised, the exploited, and the repressed. A country that can forget a pandemic even as it continues can surely forget its numerous failures—over almost two centuries—to liberate its black citizens.

It's time to demand imaginative thinking. The human race deserves better than this. Bite the hand that starves you.

No Fear.
Unity.
Peace when possible.
